Review the services below and find what you are looking for.  If you don't see it listed, this does not mean LIC can't handle it; this is just a brief summary of the most popular items done daily at LIC Motorsports.

Some Of The Most Common Services

30/60/90K Maintenance Service
Wanting to take care of your non-turbo or turbo Subaru without paying those overpriced and ridiculous fees from the dealer? Then the “30/60/90K Service” is designed for you, all parts used are strictly what the dealer uses but at a fraction of the bottom line cost to you.

The service consists of draining/refilling the motor oil, transmission oil, differential(s) oil, brake fluid flush, all weather coolant flush, subaru fuel filter (based on year/make/model/mileage and not on all models), spark plugs (based on year/make/model/mileage), air filter, cabin filter (08+ models), rotate tires, washer fluid, check/adjust tire pressures, torque wheels, and inspect drivetrain/belts. In addition you can upgrade your fluids to performance fluid and iridium spark plugs for an additional fee, just ask for the “Performance Service”.

Some ask how LIC can do this, there must be a catch; don’t be fooled by what the dealer tells you. LIC Motorsports gets its factory OEM parts direct from the dealer itself. Don’t get nickel and dimed by the dealer and book the most crucial services your Subaru needs…and all while maintaining your factory warranty.

100K Maintenance Service
The "100K Service" is designed for the newer generation vehicles that have timing chains that aren't replaced on an interval service.

The service consists of serpentine belt, coolant flush, thermostat + thermostat gasket, oil/filter change, and cabin filter change

105K Maintenance Service
The "105K Service" is a timing component job, its not the same as your 30k interval servicing.

The service consists of timing belt, water pump, water pump gasket, crank seal, coolant, coolant conditioner, air conditioning & power steering belts, thermostat, and thermostat Gasket. (SOHC Cars also get Cam Seals). This service from LIC Motorsports will always include the timing belt tensioner and idlers.

In addition, on the turbo vehicles we recommend upgrading the timing belt to a kevlar reinforced belt.

Axle Boot/Axle Replacement
There will come a point in time where you will need to have a boot and/or most often the entire axle(s) replaced on your Subaru.  This is typical to have happen every 5-7 years.  The reason is the exhaust and cataytyic converter system on the cars sit within 1" of the rubber CV boots.  As you can imagine it gets hot and over time it makes these boots become brittle and hard, thus causing them to eventually break.  When this happens the CV joint loses its lubrication and it becomes compromised from contaminants.  The best course of action is to replace the entire axle assembly.

At LIC Motorsports we only use OEM remanufactured and/or new Subaru axles.  All the other aftermarket axles are not made to the same tolerances/spec as Subaru’s and they give a violent shimmy in the car.

*Note: Not all makes/models have a Subaru remanufacture option

Brake Service
The Subaru brake system is a top notch design and one that is very good from the factory. Over the life of your Subaru you will need to replace the brake pads, resurface the rotors, and or replace them. This service is a very straight forward service and one that can be completed in only an hour(s).

If your car requires rotors, no need to leave the car overnight and wait for them to be delivered; the rotors are always in stock at LIC Motorsports.

Clutch Service
The factory Subaru clutch is one of the finest used in the automotive industry. When it comes time to replace your clutch LIC Motorsports recommends replacing with factory components.

The service consists of removing the transmission from the vehicle, resurfacing and or replacing the flywheel, new clutch disc, pressure plate, release bearing, and pilot bearing. This service is apprx a 5-6hr job and can be scheduled for same day pick.

*In addition some vehicles require replacement of the transmission fluid.

Compression/Leak Down Test
Your car's engine compression can tell you a lot about the overall health of the engine. If your car is blowing blue smoke, or if your car is losing lots of oil, you could have a bad piston ring. This will also cause low compression in that cylinder, and a compression test will tell you.

The same goes for a bad valve(s). Even if you are just noticing a general lack of power, a leak down test can help you rule out some of the more serious possible causes and help pinpoint if its a intake or an exhaust valve causing the issue.  LIC Motorsports has some of the best state of the art tools to help determine what is or isn't wrong with your motor.

Diagnostic Service
LIC Motorsports has state of the art machinery to test your vehicle and ensure it is all working efficiently. Items such as Check Engine Lights (CEL), squealing, rattles, clunks, etc...Often times the electronics are not needed and a good mechanic who solely works on these cars days in and days out is what works best.

LIC Motorsports offers some of the industries minimalist fees to diagnose your Subaru. Some ask why the dealer charges $125-150+ and LIC Motorsports can offer it at a fraction of the cost. It's simple, LIC Motorsports is confident in what they do!

Exhaust
In the exhaust system you have a series of catalytic converters, gaskets, muffler, and electronic sensors. From the daily rigors of the car heating up and cooling down, the exhaust system will have a replacement life span. The most common issues are exhaust leaks, sensors going bad, and catalytic converts going out (on higher mileage vehicles). This can range from not as efficient gas mileage, car not running properly, to not being able to smog the vehicle.

LIC Motorsports has state of the art diagnostic tools to quickly and efficiently find out what is causing the issue(s) and properly fix it in a timely manner.

Head Gasket Service
If you own an older model non-turbo Subaru or even a newer non-turbo model Subaru with the faulty head gaskets. This service is a necessity to keep your car on the road. Subaru realized back in early 2002 that there was an issue with the Dual Over Head Cam head gaskets and changed them for the turbo model cars. Whether you got the older model Dual Over Head Cam (DOHC) gaskets or even the newer model Single Over Head Cam (SOHC) gaskets, at some point in time (generally between 80,000 - 120,000 miles) you will be looking at doing this service.

The service consists of removing the motor from the vehicle, removing the heads and sending to a machine shop to resurface the heads, vacuum testing the valves, and often times new valve seals, and or complete valve job. Also replacing all gaskets associated with the removal and install; i.e. head gaskets, valve cover gaskets, valve cover washer gaskets, spark plug gaskets, intake/exhaust gaskets, etc...

*This is a good time to include a new clutch and new timing components if these have not been done yet or you are nearing these services in the future. Install of these items are free while at time of this service.

Oil Change
Whether you want an oil change using regular fluids or top of the line synthetics, this service is for everyone to keep their car in tip top shape. Lots ask, "Why so expensive for just an oil change, the quickie stop places are $15-$20 less".  It's real simple to answer this.  We use good fluids, OEM factory oil filter and drain plug washer.  This means the service is more expensive.  We also don't lure people in with a cheap inferior service just to sell them on other services.  This type of propaganda is called the lost leader oil change.  Get them in cheap and nail them with other costly repairs.  WE DON'T SUBSCRIBE TO THIS TACTIC.

The service consists of draining/refilling the motor oil, replacing the oil filter with a factory OEM or High Performance one, replacing the drain plug washer with the factory OEM crush washer, topping off your washer fluid, checking belts, fluid levels, hose clamps, and checking/adjusting tire pressures.

Pre/Post Purchase Inspection
Thinking about buying a used Subaru?  Best piece of advice is be sure to get it checked out.  Lots of used cars these days are owned by kids who don't necessarily care for vehicles the way you do and conversely lots of dealers buy cars from auctions in an effort to quickly turn and burn a car for quick cash.  Often times these cars are abused, broken, and have lots of troubles which can get passed onto an unsuspecting buyer.

We perform a multi-point inspection to ensure you know what you're about to buy.  These are the things we look at and document the condition of for you:

Wheel/Tire - conditions, tread depths
Brakes - pads, rotors, and/or drum life
Lubrication - motor oil, transmission oil, diff oil, coolant, brake fluid
Suspension - CV's, linkage, struts/shocks, ball joints, tie rods, bushings
Engine - electronics, drive belts, improperly installed parts, hoses, head gaskets, leaks
Electronics - battery test, starter test, charging test
ECU Status - CELS, and monitors
Add On's - highly recommend compression/leak down if any concerns are raised about motor health and/or if it's a turbo application.

Suspension Service
The factory Subaru suspension system is an array of carefully calculated components and it's part of what makes "a Subaru a Subaru".

There are many parts that make up this system, everything from struts, shocks, springs, and various bushings throughout the vehicle.  Maintaining these critical components is a necessity as these are what keep your alignment in spec, as well as keep the desired comfort you bought the vehicle for.  When looking for the best options, it’s always ideal to keep OEM factory components on top of this list.

What Our Clients Are Saying

"I have been going to LIC for years. I always tell people to go to them for work on Subarus. Their service and workmanship are top notch, the prices are fair, and they always get my car back to me on time. I had a mystery check engine code that had me chasing my tail trying to fix. I brought it to LIC, and Boom, they had it figured out in less than an hour! If you want a great go-to shop for your Subaru, this is the place." -Will Yturriaga from GOOGLE
